According to project coordinator Frederike Hartje, 70-80% of the sponsorships in the “Huckepack” project, which provides parents with mental illnesses with volunteer godparents who are supposed to become confidants for the children, are the main diagnosis. Accordingly, Sabine Fröhlich’s experiences with depression, especially as a mother, the possible effects of a parental illness on the children and her path towards healing were the special focus of the event. Her statements were supplemented by the presence of one of her – meanwhile grown – daughters in the audience, who gave a very touching account of her childhood memories.
